The blessing of chores

Every blessing comes with responsibilities. Cars need to be maintained, laundry needs to be washed, homes need to be taken care of.

As Sunday greets us, in the midst of our busy life, there is still so much to do before the new week rolls in. Since you have this laundry-list of housework to do, why not do it as a thankful gesture for the bounty that you enjoy? ... An offering of gratitude...

Everything of value takes effort. Make that effort with the best attitude possible. Washing dishes can be its own form of meditation. Grocery shopping can be a prayerful reflection on those who have less. Sweeping and mopping can be a contemplation of how fortunate you really are. In all, do it with joy, turn up the music, involve the kids and have some fun. This is the blessing of doing chores.

  1. As we make "gratitude" a way of living, lackness won't have sense anymore.
